Robert H. Harden ’42 served in the Army Air Corps for three years during WWII. For 36 years, Robert was an engineer for Allison Division of General Motors. He shared 62 great years with his wife, Ellen, until her death in 2010. He writes, “Would I repeat? Yes. i will spare you the details, but there have been so many, predominantly good and pleasant.” Robert has three children, three grandchildren, and on great-grandson (ΣAE 2030?). (Spring 2014)


Addison Terry ’48 has three sons who are all ΣAEs: Addison Jr., a lawyer, Jeb, an investment banker, and Tim, an architect. He has nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and is the author of a memoir, The Battle for Pusan. (Spring 2014)

James A. Whitmer ’52 enjoys retirement with his wife, Sylvia. They spend the winter in Sarasota, Florida, summers in Michigan, and the remainder of the year on a farm in South Bend, Indiana. Email: (Spring 2014)

Charles E. Baer ’55 and his wife, Joan, live in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and have four children. They spend their winters in Florida and enjoy spending time with their nine grandchildren. Charles is the chairman at Eutectic Engineering Co. Email: (Fall 2013)

Lucien C. “Craig” Woodhouse ’56 serves on the Feather River Hospital governing board and Feather River Health Foundation Board. He still plays golf and does woodworking. Craig and his wife, Shirley, have nine grandchildren; one is a Purdue graduate Beering Scholar. Email: (Spring 2015)


Ralph H. Witham ’57 and his wife, Muriel, celebrated three years of marriage in December. He remarried after his first wife, Shirley, passed way in 1999; they were married 41 years. Ralph had open heart surgery last year and received an LVAD and three valve repairs. He lives in Laguna Woods, California. Email: (Spring 2014)


David A. Bigler ’58 still enjoys golfing and traveling. He and his wife, Carolyn, recently visited the Grand Canyon. They live in Jensen Beach, Fla., and have two children, Lynn and Liz. Email: (Fall 2013)


John H. Hager ’58 works with a community nonprofit as well as takes part in political activities around Virginia. In 2012, he was named Outstanding Virginian and inducted into the Richmond Business Hall of Fame. John and his wife, Margaret, live in Richmond and have two sons. E-\mail: (Fall 2013)


Robert J. McElvain ’58 is a chairman on the Sedoma Parks and Rec Commission and volunteers as a tax preparer through AARP. Bob is an avid tennis player and resides in Sedona, Ariz. (Fall 2013)


Gilbert W. “Gib” Rowe Jr. ’58 and his wife, Marlene, spend their time in Yuma, Arizona, during the winter and in Aitkin, Minnesota, in the summer. The couple has five children. Thomas F. Hanshaw ’60 and his wife, Nancy, live in Huntington, Va., and have two daughters, Margaret and Elizabeth, and nine grandchildren. Tom retired in 2011 and enjoys music, cycling, outdoor activities, and his involvement with Boy Scouts of America. Email: (Fall 2013)


Herbert W. “Herb” McGuire ’62 graduated from Stanford Law School in 1965 and lived in Palo Alto, California, until 1999 when he moved to northern California to practice law part-time and grow almonds as a gentleman farmer. Herb and his wife, Denise, celebrated 53 years on August 19. They have four children, all of whom are doing well with their own families. Email: (Spring 2015)


William R. Litzler ’63 recently completed his term as president of the Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, Ohio. He and his wife, Joyce, live in Westlake, Ohio. They have eight grandchildren, ages 7-17. Email: (Fall 2013)


Thomas C. Pritchard ’64 has retired from Eli Lilly. Now he serves as chief operating officer for a small software company. He has fulfilled one bucket list item and bought a quarter horse. He and his wife, Donna, live in Frisco, Texas. Email: (Spring 2014)

Terry R. McNelley ’67 is retired from the Naval Post graduate school in Monterey, California, where he and his wife, Susan, live. He retired in 2010 after 38 years in teaching and researching. Timothy B. Bailey ’79 coaches high school football and girls fastpitch softball, in addition to running construction projects in and around Detroit. Mark A. Overstreet ’80 and his wife, Diane, have three children: Derek, Kari, and Kristen. Derek has a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Arizona State and is the founder and CEO of Sonoran Biosciences. Kari has a B.S. in nursing from the University of Michigan and works at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. Kristen has a B.A. in business and works at CVS/Caremart and Panera Bread. William C. Meirink ’89 has run 12 marathons and competed in more than 20 triathlons. He served as grand knight to Knights of Columbus from 2008 to 2010 and is an assistant scout master.
